BOXING: WORLD CHAMPIONS JAMAL JAMES, DAVID MORRELL MAKE TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO MN
Newly crowned Minnesota boxing champions Jamal “Shango” James and David Morrell Jr. will speak to the media Monday, August 10, about their big wins in Saturday night’s nationally televised title fights.
James, of Minneapolis, defeated Thomas Dulorme by unanimous decision to win the WBA interim welterweight title. Also on the card, David Morrell Jr., a native of Cuba now fighting out of Minneapolis, scored a unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Lennox Allen to capture the WBA interim super middleweight title.
Both boxers fight out of the Circle of Discipline in Minneapolis. Both fights took place in Los Angeles with no fans in attendance because of the pandemic. The fights were televised live on Fox.
