RESULTS FROM THE 2023 NATIONAL JUNIOR OLYMPICS IN TEXAS

Minnesota amateur boxers are ready to compete at the 2023 National Junior Olympics and Summer Festival in Lubbock, Texas. Competition begins June 5, 2023 and conclude on June 10th, 2023. There will be Noon and 6 PM sessions going on daily. This year’s event has 1,134 total boxers registered from around the country with over 24,500 total bout experience.

THURSDAY, JUNE 8, 2023

Jonas Ruiz of Saint Cloud won by 4-1 decision over Elijah Olivas of WTX in the Pee Wee 9-10 Male division.

Morgan McDonald of MNPLS lost a 4-0 decision to SPARROW PRYCE of IN in the 132 pounds in the Junior Male division.

TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 2023

Madison McDonald of MNPLS won by 5-0 decision over SIMENTAL EBONY of UT in her second bout of the competition.

Morgan McDonald of MNPLS won by 4-1 decision over Daniel Riveros of FLGC in the 132 pounds in the Junior Male division.

Jesus Ruiz of Saint Cloud lost by RSC 1 to Hugo Mendez of STX in the 132 pound Youth Male division.

MONDAY, JUNE 5, 2023

Madison McDonald of Minneapolis, MN defeated Carly McLauchlan of Beaumont, CA by 5-0 points decision in a Pee Wee Female 75 pound bout in ring #2, bout # 13 in the NOON session.

Andrew Griggs of Duluth, MN lost a 5-0 decision to Cesar Olvera of San Leandro, CA in an Elite Male 139 pound bout in ring #3, bout #2 in the 6 PM session.

Timothy Greer of Minneapolis, MN lost a 4-0 points decision (one scorecard even) against Persean Robinson of Rochester, NY in a Youth Male 147 pound bout in ring #4, bout #12 during the 6 PM session.

Daveone Olive of Saint Cloud, MN lost a 5-0 decision to Damian Munoz of Levelland, TX in an Elite Male 165 pound bout in ring #4, bout #16 during the 6 PM session.
