AMATEUR BOXING RESULTS, LUCY LANEY AND SIR BOXING ON THE ROAD
Andy Fretes of Sir Boxing defeated an undefeated (7-0) boxer last Saturday at Franklin Junior High School in Des Moines, Iowa. The show was presented by Sarges Westside Boxing. Sir Boxers Ian Chamblin and Devin Carter also made the trip but did not compete because of opponents no-showing. All three boxers will be in action this Saturday at the High School for Recording Arts located at 1166 University Ave. W. in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Lucy Laney boxers were busy at the Devon Alexander Boxing Invitational in Saint Louis, MO. Morgan McDonald Jr. of Luceny Laney won a 4-1 decision over Marcel Vaughn of Paqedale Rec Center in a 132 pound bout.
Z’Karion Walker of Lucy Laney lost to Jeremiah Johnson after suffering a shoulder injury in round one. Walker’s coach threw in the towel at the conclusion of the opening round due to the injury.
Clinton Woods of Lucey Laney lost a split decision to Dashawn Pierson of Saul Brute Academy in a 135 pound bout. Many felt Woods deserved the nod.
Lavender Nelson lost by split decision to Alaigha Hughes of Driscoll’s Boxing Academy in a 136 pound bout.
