ANDREE REID JR. ” I WILL BE FINISHING MY OPPONENT ON JUNE 17″
Saint Paul, Minnesota super middle weight Andree Reid Jr. (0-0-1) is set to box pro debuting southpaw Christopher Morrow tonight in a four round bout at Element Boxing Gym. The show kicks off at 6 PM CST and you can also purchase tickets online at www.qfights.com.
Reid, 26, is a slick southpaw who showed nice moments of skill beyond his years in his pro debut last March and also during sparring sessions with Caleb Truax, Leo Medel, Sona Akale and more to prepare for this bout. Reid, who is originally from Chicago, Illinois before moving to Saint Paul’s East Side after 8th grade, where he played Football, Basketball, and Baseball growing up which helps explain his fluid, athletic movement in the ring.
Feeling his pro debut against Chris Porter which ended in a draw last March at Element was his for the taking, the 26 year-old called tonight’s fight “Redemption” on social media.
“My first pro fight was last December at Element Boxing Gym. I had a great opponent, tough fight and ended up with a draw. So I went back to the drawing board and the goal was to be in better shape this time around, be prepared to finish, and get that win. That is where our focus was for this camp.”
“This camp was all about being sharp. My defense is on point. Punching is on point and our focus is on being patient. Finding my opponent and figuring him out. Once I see my openings, the plan is to attack and finish. I don’t know too much about my opponent and am still very young in the pro world so it’s still a little like the amateur’s like that. The goal is to grow in these fights and build confidence in what I know how to do. This fight on June 17th, I will be finishing my opponent.”
