A highly anticipated match-up featuring rising stars Antonio Woods and Deshawn Prather vying for the Universal Boxing Organization (UBO) Continental (North America) Middleweight title takes place this Friday, April 12, 2024 in Springfield, Missouri. The 8 round showdown promises excitement and suspense as it’s both men’s toughest challenge to date. The fight is one of three boxing matches being featured at the 2024 Stronger Men’s Conference in Springfield, Missouri. You can watch the entire conference including the boxing for $69 at https://strongermen.org/.

In one corner stands Antonio “Superbad” Woods (12-0, 10 KO’s), hailing from Shoreview, MN. Since turning pro in 2019 after a successful stint in the amateur ranks, Woods has gone undefeated as a professional. Woods has shown willingness to both box and brawl while stopping 10 of his 12 opponents to date. He’s been out of the ring for nearly a year and is ready to return with a bang along with a team which features trainer Corey Rodriguez and cutman Jesse Garza.

Opposing Woods is Deshawn “Squito” Prather (17-1, 2 KOs) from Kansas City, Missouri. Prather, at 26, boasts a professional career characterized by resilience and skill. Despite a loss early in his career, Prather has since amassed victories over seasoned opponents like Dedrick Bell and undefeated prospect Kevin Ceja Ventura. With his proven ability to shine in tough fights, Prather, like Woods, enters the ring with confidence.

“This is the perfect opportunity for Tony to step up versus another good prospect and chart his future trajectory” said Woods’ manager Eric Hinderaker. “The team worked really hard in camp and Tony is ready to go 8 grueling rounds if necessary. Both fighters are confident in taking the belt home, so it should be a fun fight. I’m confident Tony will find a way to get his hand raised!”

As both fighters prepare to square off, they find themselves at a pivotal spot in their careers. This title bout marks the first opportunity for either competitor to claim a belt which should lead to big opportunities. With their respective strengths and experiences in tow, Woods and Prather are poised for a true showdown, a match where victory hangs in the balance, making it anyone’s title up for grabs.

“He’s 17 and 1 and a good boxer” said Woods when asked for his thoughts on Prather. “He’s been in there with and beaten some good guys so I think it’s a perfect test for where I’m at in my career to take the next step”.
