BACK TO SCHOOL DUEL PRESENTED BY JUNGLE BOY BOXING – DULUTH, MN THIS FRIDAY!
The Jungle Boy Boxing Gym will host a night of amateur boxing this Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Buffalo House in Duluth, MN. The doors open at 6 PM and with the action set to begin at 7 PM. The main event of the night should be electric as it’s a rematch between Kevin Ramos and Jeroson Garduward. The two boxers met last April in the 2023 Upper Midwest Golden Gloves championship finals at 132 pounds with Garduward winning by decision. They meet at 135 pounds. The latest bout sheet is below but may have changed a bit by the first bell.
Alissa Boltz of Duluth, MN will meet Jessica Radtke Maltez of River Falls, WI to kick things off in the opening bout. Boltz will be cornering boxers on the show as she is also one of the coaches at the Jungle Gym which is why promoter Zach Walters set this fun match to go first. Boltz began boxing in 2016 and realized she wanted to compete shortly after. She was ranked number 6 in the nation back in 2018 after qualifying for Nationals.
“All of my national tournaments have been great experiences, including the last one I went to, to coach two of our boxers from Jungle Gym.” said Boltz when asked to talk about her favorite boxing moments to date. “It’s hard to pick just one favorite moment, I’ve had a lot of favorite boxing memories. I’m really grateful for all the experiences boxing has brought Meg.”
“I know my opponent, Jessica, comes from a lot of experience as well and boxed back in the day with Uppercut. I boxed and sparred with her a few times at Uppercut, with a number of their female boxers. Come Friday night, fans can expect to see an exciting fight between two experienced females. The rest of the card should be just as exciting with some boxing debuts as well as other experienced boxing matches, with fighters from MN, Wisconsin, and also Canada. I’m excited to get back in the ring and help put on a great show!”
