BENEFIT FOR SAVARINO GARCIA THIS SATURDAY

A benefit for former Saint Paul bantamweight boxer Savarino Garcia is being held this Saturday, December 10th at Dunham’s bar and Restaurant in Saint Paul. Donations that are raised will help pay for the mounting medical costs for Garcia’s battle against stage 4 terminal cancer. Food and raffles will go from 5pm to 8pm with music by The Finn Band going from 8pm to 10pm.
Savarino Garcia was a phenomenal boxer with an amateur record of 117 wins and only 6 or 7 defeats while going 6 wins and 1 loss as a professional. His son Savarino Garcia Jr. says that his dad used to spar with legend Marvin Hagler and that Garcia Sr. said hitting Hagler felt like punching a brick wall.

Dunham’s bar and restaurant is located at 173 Lothenbach Avenue, West Saint Paul, MN 55118.
