BOXING: BRANT MAKES WEIGHT FOR MURATA FIGHT

Minnesota’s Rob Brant will challenge Japan’s Ryota Murata tonight for the WBA middleweight championship. Brant is a 5-1 underdog and ready to prove oddsmakers wrong. Speculation in the media suggests that Murata is in line to face guys like Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin but a win for Brant puts him right in the mix.

Brant weighed in at 158.4 pounds while Murata was almost a pound heavier at 159.2. Tonight’s fight will be streamed live on ESPN Plus live from the MGM’s Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada.
