BOXING: UPDATE- HUBBERT, WILSON MAKE WEIGHT IN WISCONSIN
UPDATE: Hubbert lost a unanimous decision to Deonte Wilson in a good battle between two of the Midwest’s top super lightweights.
Rondale “Give Em Hell” Hubbert (10-4-1, 6 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN and Wisconsin’s Deonte Wilson (8-2, 3 KO’s) both made weight last night for there super lightweight showdown. The co-featured bout promoted by Supreme Hits Boxing takes place tonight at Turner Hall in Madison, Wisconsin. Wilson weighed in at 138.8 pounds while Hubbert initially came in heavy at 142.3. He was given an hour to lose a pound and came back at 139.9. Hubbert says he has had a fantastic training camp with sparring that included Minnesota State super bantamweight champion Vicente Alfaro and undefeated super featherweight Ismail Muwendo. Headlining the show is Wisconsin’s Duarn Vue (126.9 lbs.) as he faces Mike Fowler (123.6 lbs).
