BOXING: HUFFMAN VS COMPTON “FACE TO FACE” FIGHT PREVIEW

Boxing returns to the Convention Center in downtown Minneapolis this Saturday, January 25th, 2020. One of the more anticipated fights of the night is a 4 round super welterweight meeting between Duluth’s Danny Huffman and Minneapolis’ Nick Compton.
The two super welterweights were scheduled to meet last December before that show was pushed forward to this Saturday. As a result, both men say they are in fantastic shape after top-notch training camps. Huffman could be seen running marathon like treks in Duluth while most were still asleep and was pushed hard at JungleBoy Boxing. The 6’0 orthodox boxer is coming off of a win over North Dakota’s Jake Henriksen last October and brings a record of 3-0-1 as a professional.
Nick Compton is a mixed martial artist that has boxed in the past. He’s done well in those bouts, going the distance with both Markus Morris and Donny Tierney. Like Huffman, Compton is a grinder in the ring and willing to put his heart on the line to give the fans a show. He has made Lyke’s Gym his boxing home and was able to get valuable work in against skilled boxers to prepare for Huffman. Compton is hoping a win will setup both boxing and MMA bouts in 2020.

See what the two what the two fighters had to say in this “FACE TO FACE” fight week preview.

DANNY HUFFMAN: “My opponent is an MMA guy fighting out of the cities. I expect him to be in great shape and ready to throw a lot of punches. He is going on over a 5 year layoff from his last boxing fight. The ring rust is going to be there and we are anticipating a guy with a sparring mentality. My fans can expect an explosive performance on my end and I hope for my performance to steal the show.”
“As we are closing in on fight camp number 5, our focus has been on power and causing pain. I truly think I have settled in to my power punches and look forward to displaying an explosive performance come Saturday night.”

NICK COMPTON: “I know he is from Duluth, tall and fights hard” said Compton. “I’m focused and ready to put on a show. It’s been a long time since I’ve fought in Minneapolis so I’m looking forward it. Last but not least I want to thank all that helped me prepare for this fight.”
