Jamal James, Left and COD teammate Nate Haile in California.

Jamal James of Minneapolis and Al Sands of Duluth will try to keep the Minnesota boxing scene rolling following Caleb Truax’s world title victory last weekend. The two local boxers are fighting this Friday night on separate corners of the world and each have an opportunity to bring home a big victory.

Minnesota State welterweight champion Jamal “Shango” James (21-1, 9 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN has returned to California where he headlines a big fight card this Friday night. It will be another high level clash of styles as the boxer James meets the brawler Diego Gabriel Chaves on Fox Sports 1. That type of match up is nothing new to James, who’s boxing skills have made him famous for out dueling hard nosed punchers in the past.
