BOXING: QUICK RESULTS FROM HINCKLEY, MN

Rob Brant defended his WBA middleweight title In dominant fashion last night in Hinckley, MN. Brant came out guns blazing to begin the nights main event and pounded away at Khassan Baysangurov. Near the two minute mark in round two, a right hand to the head dropped Baysangurov to a knee. Despite being doubled up on punches thrown and landed by the midway point, Baysangurov was able to come forward. His size and toughness allowed him to find a few openings but Brant remained in charge of the fight heading into round ten behind a tireless assault of punches targeted at the head of his Russian opponent. Baysangurov landed a hard right to the head early in round eleven but the punch only seem to upset Brant who went on the attack. The Minnesotan jumped on Baysangurov, landing three significant right hands to the head. The first dropped Baysangurov at the 1:30 mark and two more moments later forced referee Mark Nelson to stop the fight as a bloodied Baysangurov fell into the ropes at 1:42 of round eleven.
