Duluth, Minnesota’s Ryan Watson (3-1-1, 2 KO’s) is back in the ring tonight at the Ho-Chunk Gaming, Wittenberg. Watson battles undefeated James “Dancing Bull” Jackson (4-0, 2 KO’s) in a heavyweight bout. The 25-year-old began his pro boxing days as a cruiserweight before taking time away from the sport in 2016. After 2.5 years away, Watson returned last April to out-point then-unbeaten heavyweight southpaw Juan Torres (3-0 at the time) of Texas.

At yesterdays weigh-ins, Watson hit the scales at 281.1 pounds while Jackson was 256.8. Afterward, he talked about his last win and tonight’s fight.

“It was nice to get in there with an undefeated fighter (Torres) and knock off some rust. Everyone loves to watch heavyweights because someone usually drops. He (James Jackson) is undefeated but he’s never fought anyone like me.”

22-year-old James Jackson has looked promising so far as a pro. His biggest win according to Watson came in 2017 against Danyelle Williams (3-1). And Williams happens to be Watson’s current sparring partner.

“My gym closed recently so I’ve been training on my own”, said Jackson. “I trained hard though. It could go four rounds or it might not. You guys will have to come to watch to find out.”

International Boxing Hall of Famer and Olympian Virgil “Quicksilver Hill presents the action with Richard Calavera having put the matches together. Fighting in the main event is former World title challenger Marcus Oliveira (26-4-1, 21 KO’s). Oliveira faces Frankie Lopez (11-1, 9 KO’s) of California in a cruiserweight bout.
