BOXING: TRUAX BACK IN THE RING DECEMBER 14
“Golden” Caleb Truax (30-4-2, 19 KO’s) has announced that December 14, 2019 marks his boxing return. Truax has gotten down to business with strength and conditioning work and sparring in preparation for fight night which takes place at the Myth Live in Maplewood, MN. After recent injuries limited his action over the past year, Truax believes the hard luck has passed and is on the hunt for a big time fight. A gash caused by a clash of heads cut last April’s fight against Peter Quillin short after two rounds. An Achilles injury in late August forced him to withdraw from the rematch.
Truax’s opponent will be Brazilian Jackson Junior (22-13, 20 KO’s) next month in December. If all goes as planned in that bout, he is looking at a big time fight either late winter or early spring.
The Former World IBF Super Middleweight Champion and current Minnesota State Super Middleweight Champion says he’s excited to get back in the ring on December 14th to fight towards another title fight.
“I am chomping at the bit to get back in the ring. I’ve only had a few rounds of boxing in the last year and although I had some good offers for February and March I didn’t want to wait that long to get back to action. I look forward to going out and putting on a show in front of my hometown fans and all of Team Truax on December 14th and jumping back into a big time fight soon after.”
“Sir” Charles Meier (8-4-2, 3 KO’s) returns after four years away from boxing action to face Iowa’s Fred Thomas (1-18-2) in a featured undercard bout.
Scheduled to make the trip from Duluth for featured fights are Jungle Boy Boxing’s Danny Huffman (3-0-1, 1 KO), Jesse Walters (2-0, 2 KO’s), and Amy Lemenager (1-0, 1 KO).
Mixed Martial Artist Zach Juusola who now resides in Nevada will also see action. Juusola looks to ride the momentum after scoring a 2nd round KO win at Bare Knuckle FC three weeks ago. Nate Richardson (1-1), Donald Williams (0-1) of Minneapolis, and Justin Olejnicak (debut) are scheduled to see action on the show.
