BOXING: FIGHTERS MAKE WEIGHT IN DULUTH

Generation Next combatants weighed in earlier today in Duluth, MN and are ready to go to battle tomorrow night at The Sports Garden. Tony G Presents brings the action along with Jungle Boy Boxing Gym. Doors open on Friday night at 6 PM and the boxing starts at 7 PM.

Local 22 year-old welterweight Danny Huffman (2-0-1) headlines his second fight card as a pro in his hometown against Glyndon, Minnesota’s Jake Henriksen (3-4). Huffman weighed in at 149.6 while Henriksen was 149.2.

Jesse Walters (1-0) fights for the first time as a pro in Duluth and is expected to draw a big crowd when he faces Tyler Stokes of Kansas. Walters, 18, won his pro debut last August in Maplewood, MN. Slyter is from Kansas and has an MMA background. Slyter told MN Fight News that he is excited to throw hands and make his boxing pro debut. Slyter has a residence in Stillwater, MN as well. Walters weighed in at 122.6 while Slyter came in at 125.4.

Two Harbors native Jesse Wannemacher makes his long awaited pro boxing debut in a four round battle against Mark Slyter (1-6) of Kansas. Wannemacher had an extensive amateur boxing career before turning his focus to MMA. Slyter has boxed Jesse Walters, and Minnesota boxers Joe James and Marlin Sims. Wannemacher hit 141 pounds even and Slyter was slightly lighter at 140.2.

Former Proctor-Hermantown standout goal keeper Amy Lemenager of Duluth will make her middleweight boxing debut against New Town, North Dakota’s Kayla Bradly (0-1-1). “Jungle Boy” Zach Walters says Lemenager packs a big punch and has a huge supporting team of fans that will make their way to the Sports Garden.  Lemenager weighed in at 165.2 while Bradly weighed 169.6.

Minneapolis kick-boxer Phillip Latu, 227lbs. and Canada’s Colin Sangster 275.2lbs. will make their heavyweight pro debuts in the opening bout of the evening.
