BOXING: WEIGHTS FROM LYKE’S ACR BOXING GYM
“Generation Next” boxers weighed-in this afternoon at Lyke’s ACR Boxing Gym in Coon Rapids. The fights begin at 7 PM on Thursday night at The Myth Live in Maplewood, MN. Gizzy Hobbs of Minneapolis stepped on the scale and hit the super featherweight mark at 128 pounds even. His opponent DeWayne Wisdom was still on his way to Minnesota as weigh-in’s began. He will weigh-in at a later time. Duluth’s Danny Huffman and Jesse Walters along with their opponents Jesse Addison and Mark Slyter hit the respective weights without issue. Pro debuters Lloyd McKinney and Michael Jokondo also made weight. Marty Lindquist will now face former Chicago Golden Glover Anton Young (debut) in a four round heavyweight bout. Young trains at ACR Boxing and heard Lindquist had no opponent after John Schimon pulled out. So Young stepped in to make the fight.
Middleweight prospect Lois Rose of California was also present. Rose recently signed with Greg Cohen Promotions and is managed by Minnesota’s Eric Hinderacker. Rose will be in town for three weeks sparring with Caleb Truax.
