BRANT RETURNS JANUARY 22 ON SHOWTIME
25 year old Robert “Bravo” Brant (18-0, 11 KO’s) is set to be featured January 22, 2016 on Showtime’s televised “Shobox” series. Brant will face 24 year old Decarlo Perez (15-3-1, 5 KO’s) of New Jersey.
Brant defeated tough and unorthodox middleweight Louis Rose last October over 10 rounds to pick up the biggest victory of his pro career. That bout was also featured on Showtime.
“It was a good fight” said Brant looking back on the fight with Rose. “I really
learned a lot from that fight. I had to dig deep and push myself. It was a nice step up in class which is something I will to continue to do.”
The Oakdale, MN native Brant says that he returned home after the fight with Rose for nearly a week before heading back to Dallas, Texas where he is training and living. Brant is set to box 24 year old Decarlo Perez (15-3-1, 5 KO’s, click name to view record) of New Jersey in a 10 round middleweight bout. Perez has had very good success against solid competition and should prove to be another good test for Brant as he attempts to continue to climb the middleweight ranks.
“Perez is a prospect checker” said Brant. “He beat a 23-0 guy in his last fight and he’s beaten some very good fighters. He throws all the right punches and has good timing. I believe I am a little more athletic and that is definitely something I will put to use in my game plan. I think it’s going to be a great fight.”
Brant will be getting world class sparring while in Texas again for this fight, working with undefeated Jermell “Iron Man” Charlo (27-0, 12 Ko’s) of Texas and possibly Errol Spence Jr. (19-0, 16 KO’s, also from Texas) depending on when Spence Jr. enters camp. This fight versus Perez will take place out of state and the location will be announced shortly.
