Caleb Truax Returns on MNPLS Armory Showtime Triple Header June 24th
“Golden” Caleb Truax (31-5-2, 19 KO’s) is preparing to make his long awaited ring return on June 24, 2023 at the Minneapolis Armory in downtown MNPLS. The return would mark an end to a long and frustrating layoff which has led to two years out of competition. Truax told MN Boxing that he has an off television undercard bout scheduled but that no opponent has been announced yet. The main portion of the show will be televised live on Showtime and is presented by TGB Promotions in association with Warriors Boxing.
The main event features WBC interim middleweight champion Carlos Adames (22-1, 17 KO’s) taking on former unified junior middleweight title holder Julian Williams (28-3-1) in a 12 round middleweight bout. Another interesting middleweight bout features Wisconsin’s Luis Arias (20-3-1) as he battles Erickson Lubin (24-2) in a crossroads bout. The two have been sparring partners in the past and style-wise, should be a fun bout. A bout between Truax and Arias was once discussed but never materialized. The opening fight of the telecast sees IBF junior bantamweight champion Fernando Martinez (15-0) putting his title on the line versus undefeated challenger Jade Bornea (18-0).
Truax last fought on January 30, 2021 against Caleb Plant for the IBF super middleweight title. He says that he plans to get back in the mix with this fight and then plans to target another big time fight next.
