DAMION HILL GETS BURNED BY JUDGES, LINDQUIST RETIRES FOLLOWING FRIDAYS ACTION IN IOWA
Damion “The Wolverine” Hill (now 4-13) of Brooklyn Park, MN traveled to Davenport, Iowa last Friday and out-boxed hometown favorite and Iowa state champion Stephen Edwards (now 15-1-1, 1 KO) over four rounds of action. The majority of online viewers, one judge, and even the mother of Edwards had Hill winning the fight. Yet it was the two other judges who decided to gift Edwards another home cooked decision. Final scores read 40-36 or Hill and 39-37 twice for Edwards.
The Wolfman” Marty Lindquist (now 14-12), 51, of Blaine, MN was stopped in the second round against Skylar Thompson of Rockford, Illinois (now 14-26). Lindquist, 51, announced his retirement afterwards and will continue to train future boxers at Valhalla Combat in Fridley, MN.
Juan Hernandez of Sleepy Eye, MN (now 1-0) win a unanimous four round decision over Ryan Antle (0-1) of Iowa in a middleweight bout.
