DAVID MORRELL JR. RETURNS IN DECEMBER
It was announced yesterday at the new Circle of Discipline training facility in Minneapolis that Minnesota based WBA world super middleweight champion David Morrell Jr. (5-0, 4 KO’s) will be returning to the MNPLS Armory in mid December. The official date was not announced at Tuesday afternoon’s press conference but the MN Combative Sports Commissions website lists December 18th, 2021 as the next Armory boxing date. Morrell is coming off a first-round knockout win over previously unbeaten Mario Cazares at the Minneapolis Armory.
An opponent was not announced but Minnesotaboxing.com has learned that 29 year old Alantez Fox (28-2-1, 13 KO’s) of Maryland is one of the names heading the list to be opposite Morrell when fight night arrives. Fox defeated Manny Woods in Minneapolis last June.
Morrell arrived after yesterdays press conference had concluded and mixed in some fantastic rounds with Mounds View, Minnesota’s Dave Peterson (13-2, 8 KO’s). Peterson has bulked up since his Jr. middleweight days and last fought in 2013. Peterson trains at Valhalla Combat in Fridley and is preparing for a return to the ring. Look for Peterson to be a part of Morrell’s training camp for the December fight.
