BOXING RESULTS: Superwelterweight Ve Shawn Owens (9-2, 9 KO’s) of Minneapolis lost an 8 round split decision to Chordale Booker (11-0, 5 KO’s) on Saturday night in New York. It was past 1 AM in Brooklyn, NY when the two men mixed it up in front of a largely empty arena. The fight took place after the main event due to TV time restrictions. “Fought real tough and slick Chordale Booker,” said Owens afterward. “I tried to take the “W” in his backyard but came up short, really great fighter, even greater friend (Booker).”

MMA RESULTS: Saint Paul’s Blake Bilder (2-0-1) and Oregon’s Denny Linton (3-3-1) fought to a split draw on Saturday night at the Chinook Winds Casino in Lincoln City, Oregon. The 145 pounds “King of the Cage” main event had the judges split after three, 5:00 rounds.

“We came out and put on fight of the night for the main event. It ended in a draw. I’ll be back and better than ever. This is motivation!”

Bilder says he plans on being back in the cage in a little over a month.
