FOX 21 INTERVIEWS AL SANDS AHEAD OF FIGHT

DULUTH, Minn. – We’re less than two weeks away from another great boxing card at Grand Casino Hinckley.  Al Sands will be there, fighting at a new weight class.
The reigning North American Boxing Association United States cruiserweight champion will face journeyman Galen Brown at the October 1st show at heavyweight.
This will be Sands’ first bout at over 200 pounds.
Normally there’s no weight limit at heavyweight, but Sands and Brown have agreed to what’s known as a catch weight Of 210 pounds.
The “Haitian Temptation” says fighting with more pounds on his frame poses a new challenge.
“We’re definitely going to have to show more patience,” said Sands.  “Our volume may not be where it was at cruiserweight, but I look forward to testing myself at this new weight class.”
At this time, Sands isn’t sure if he’ll be switching to heavyweight full time.
“We’re definitely going to give it a test on this show,” said Sands.  We might float back and forth, we might stay at heavyweight or we might just come right back to cruiserweight.  We’ll see how things go on the first.”
