30 year old Gavino Guaman (6-5-1, 2 KO’s) of Columbia and training out of the CMB Boxing Gym in Apple Valley, MN lost a hard-fought and action packed unanimous decision to California’s David Navarro (4-1, 2 KO’s) tonight on Showtimes ShoBox “The New Generation” which took place at the Deadwood Mountain Grand in South Dakota. The non televised bout featured good back and forth action. Minnesota boxer and teammate of Guaman’s Leo Medel told Minnesotaboxing.com that there were no knockdowns scored in the bout although Guaman did buzz him more than once.

Guaman entered the ring having last fought in July of 2021 where he picked up a win. Despite the good toe to toe action throughout, the decision would not go to Guaman as Minnesota based judges Ludy Webster and John Mariano scored the bout 60-54 while the third judges score was read as a head scratching 60-49. Saint Paul referee Mark Nelson was the third man in the ring and will continue to be into the Showtime televised bouts. Guaman officially weighed in on Thursday night at 127.8 pounds.

The night’s main event is a 10 round junior middleweight bout between Ardreal Holmes vs. Vernon Brown.
