HUBBERT FACES RJJ PROSPECT THIS SUNDAY

Rondale “Give Em Hell” Hubbert (13-16-2, 8 KO’s) is set to make his second ring appearance of 2021 tomorrow night at the Columbia County Exhibition Center in Augusta, Georgia. This time out, Hubbert will face another undefeated prospect in Fernando Bunch (10-0, 5 KO’s) of Georgia by way of Alabama. The 6 round bout will be the main event of a six fight card promoted by K Rucker Production. Weigh-ins take place later today and we are told that a stream of tomorrow’s card will be available which we will provide when possible.

Hubbert hopes to snap a 9 fight losing streak which comes against fighters with a combined record of 107 wins with only 10 losses. The last time Hubbert fought in Minnesota was in January of 2020 at the Grand Casino, Hinckley, MN. In that bout, Hubbert appeared to outbox Jose Jacobo (7-1) but surprisingly lost the hometown fight on the judges scorecards.

At 5’11 and undefeated, Bunch will be a tough task for Hubbert to solve. Born in Birmingham, AL, Bunch is currently trained by boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. in Pensacola, FL. Hubbert however brings over 30 fights of experience with him and has basically seen it all. The best record Bunch has faced comes in at 7 wins and 34 losses and Hubbert will be the best opponent he has faced.

Hubbert says he is physically prepared and trained for the showdown despite dealing with distractions in his family life recently.

“I know a lot of my friends and family have been trying to see if I am ready. I am more than ready for this fight” said Hubbert. “You can stop what transpires in life but as far as me putting in the actual work to be prepared for this fight, I did that. Family issues that came up during this camp tried to knock me off my square I managed to stay focused. I’ve always been mentally strong with the mind of a warrior. We have to respect this craft and I put the work in this time. At this point in life, I need this “W”.

“I know my opponent is fast and tall but he’s been fighting in the 130’s. I want to bully him with a straight forward style with lots of pressure and keep him uncomfortable. I’m not going to let him find his rhythm”.
