Standing at 6’2” and weighing in at 264 pounds, Minneapolis native Tommy Matlon (4-2, 3 KOs) has made a formidable transition from Muay Thai to boxing under the guidance of former MN state champion and coach Corey Rodriguez. Matlon captured the Wisconsin State Heavyweight Title with a first-round knockout of Dominicc Hardy in November 2023 and successfully defended it with a second-round stoppage of Marlon Haywood in March 2024. Known for his power and refined technique, Matlon is eager to showcase his skills and continue his ascent in the heavyweight division.
Matlon recognizes the challenge Audie presents and is preparing for a hard-fought battle.
“I know he’s a southpaw but will shift to orthodox from time to time. He’s a capable fighter with solid tricks and he fights backwards well. He maintains high threat and power through the last round and he’s not afraid to take a punch to deliver a punch.”
“I don’t think Cayman has had a boring fight; he always brings heat, and I think it could be a 4-round slugfest. I think it’s in my best interest to try and dictate the fight as much as possible, allow it to turn into a brawl only when it suits me. I don’t think he’s been finished yet, so I’m prepared to go the full fight, but I’m also looking at it as a bit of a challenge to see if I can be the one to stop him. I want to be patient this fight—I think Cayman is most dangerous when it looks like he’s in trouble. Looking forward to this one; should be a fun match.”
Hailing from Hinckley, MN, 5’10” heavyweight Cayman Audie (3-1, 1 KO) embodies the spirit of a fearless competitor. Audie made a statement in his professional debut with a knockout victory over Vincent Downwind in October 2021 before facing a setback with a close unanimous decision loss to Dennys Reyes in December 2021. He has since picked up two more wins behind a relentless, “blood and guts” fighting style that makes him a formidable opponent willing to engage with anyone in the ring.
