KICKBOXING: RICHARDSON FACES GRESKIEWICZ AT GLORY 61 TONIGHT
Minnesota Featherweight Nate “The Natural” Richardson (11-3, 5 KO’s) meets Justin “The Purple People Eater” Greskiewicz (41-23-3, 18 KO) tonight at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. The GLORY 61 prelim fight will be streamed live on Glory Kickboxing’s Facebook page Here. You can also watch on Pluto TV which can be accessed via the FREE APP HERE. Richardson weighed in at 142 pounds yesterday while Greskiewicz was 143.6. Former IBF World super middleweight boxing champion Caleb Truax will be in Richardson’s corner, joining coach Chris Cichon.
“The Natural” signed with Glory in 2017, winning his debut before losing two highly controversial decisions afterward. Last July at Glory 55, Richardson’s fists pounded his opponent Victor Pinto before two of three judges shocked viewers by giving Pinto the win.
“I thought I won the fight,” Richardson told MN Fight News. “I knew it was a close fight but I also knew I was pushing the pace and making sure to keep the pressure. I knew I landed the most significant strikes in the fight. I still don’t know how I lost the fight.”
Richardson will get a chance to avenge those decisions tonight against a highly seasoned veteran in Greskiewicz. “The Purple People Eater” is also looking to get back on track after being stopped last July.
“Training camp was good,” said Richardson. “I don’t like taking too much time off unless I’m Injured, I like to keep myself busy. I know he (Pinto) was a Muay Thai guy, so I knew he would kick a lot. The plan was to pressure him and let my hands go, so that he wouldn’t be able to kick me as much. I kind of expect the same thing this time around because he (Greskiewicz) has a Muay Thai style also. This time I will not just be using boxing though. I’ll also be using my kicks as well. I won’t lose this time and I’m looking for a finish!
