Live Results from Miami, FL (Walker, Hubbert, Adyaka)

RESULT 1: Terrence Walker (now 1-1) of Minneapolis, MN, 221.6 Lbs. was stopped in round two by Istvan Bernath (now 4-0) of Budapest, Hungary, 243.6 Lbs.

Istvan Bernath weighed in 22 pounds heavier after yesterdays weigh-in’s and looked twice as big once the fighters entered the ring. Walker began the bout sticking and moving nicely on his toes while Bernath stalked with hammering punches. Moments into round two, a right to the head sent Walker into the ropes which was ruled a knockdown (ropes held him up). Walker went right back at Bernath as the announcers commended the Minnesotan for his willingness to engage throughout. Bernath however used his hulking size to land another right to the head that sent Walker to the canvas. Walker made it to his feet and wanted to continue but the referee waived the fight off after a small stutter step by Walker.

RESULT 2: Rondale Hubbert (now 13-18-2) of Minneapolis, MN, 136 Lbs. lost a six round unanimous decision to Nikolay Shvab (now7-0) of Kazakhstan, 134.6 Lbs. Scores read 60-54 on all three judges scorecards.

Rondale Hubbert began the fight by moving in and out and landing pot shots as the speedier boxer. “The Iceman” Shvab, who looked taller and thicker fighting out of the southpaw stance began to find his range midway through the opening round while stalking forward and slowing Hubbert on the ropes with body punches.

Shvab really began concentrating on the body of Hubbert in round three. However, just as it appeared like Hubbert was fading by the fourth, the Minnesotan caught Shvab with three lefts to the head which stunned the undefeated fighter and wobbled him near the end of round four.

Hubbert continued the momentum into the fifth by turning the action up with nice combinations to the head. Shvab appeared angered by Hubbert’s success and fired back with hard body and head shots. Hubbert was the fighter coming forward now as the round came to a close with Shvab looking to counter. Round six was less of a successful round offensively for Hubbert but he was commended by the fans and commentators for walking through and brushing off some big shots.

In the end, the judges saw the scores the same 60-54 giving Shvab the unanimous decision win.
