Minnesota featherweight Marlin “So Icey” Sims (8-0, 4 KO’s) and Maryland’s Domnique Crowder (7-0, 6 KO’s) meet tonight in the biggest test to date for both young featherweights. The six round main event takes place at the Crown Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The action will stream live on BXNG TV for $14.99.

“This fight excites me most because we both are undefeated fighters putting that 0 on the line at an early part of our career” Sims told MinnesotaBoxing.com. “He’s good I’m good and on that night we will see who’s best. This fight is a real test for me. I think it will be a boxing match with two long featherweights boxing it out. I’m fully capable of having a fire fight if that’s what he tries to do.”

“I’m glad to be back in the ring I’m glad to have an opponent like Crowder this fight here can be a major boost in my boxing career and I’m just ready to lace up the gloves.”

With the huge opportunity in place to propel the career of Sims, manager Eric Hinderaker says he is excited for Saturday night.

“I’m really excited for Marlin’s fight this Saturday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This is a fight we had been offered a year or so ago, but we already had signed for a different matchup. With the pandemic really slowing down boxing in Minnesota and many other areas, I called Adam Glenn (Times Square Boxing) and said let’s make the fight! He agreed now was the right time.”

“Marlin’s opponent was a top US amateur (#2 rated in the US) and a multiple time NYC Golden Gloves champ. He is tall like Marlin and their pro resumes are pretty identical right now at 8-0 for Marlin and 7-0 for Dominique with similar opponents. Marlin and the team have been working towards an opportunity like this since he turned pro in 2018 and we can’t wait for the opportunity to stamp Marlin’s name on the top prospect lists.”

The show is being promoted by Christy Martin Promotions and is available for $15 via streaming at www.bxngtv.com – there are 12 or so fights and some of the country’s top prospects will be in action. The fight has been moved to the main event and will begin around 9 or 10 PM Central time.

Hinderaker continued “As always, Marlin has worked extremely hard and will be a massive and strong featherweight on Saturday night. I’m proud to manage him and represent him as part of the One-Two Boxing stable and thank his coaches Alfonso Vasquez and Daleco James for getting him into peak shape.”
