MENGISTU ZARZAR HAS REVENGE IN MIND, RETURNS TONIGHT
“The Dynamic Warrior” Mengistu Zarzar (6-7-1, 5 KO’s) of Brooklyn Park, MN by way of Atlanta, Georgia is hours away from stepping back into the ring for his 15th professional boxing match. The three time Minnesota state cruiserweight title challenger will face Jade Ealy (2-6, 1 KO) in a six round light-heavyweight bout which takes place at the Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage in Louisville.
Minnesota fight fans can watch Zarzar’s bout along with the rest of the card that was supposed to feature the return of the Fighting Rabbi Yuri Foreman until Foreman pulled out just hours ago. The show can be streamed live at THIS LINK. Future Promotions LLC presents the action.
Zarzar weighed in last night at 174.6 pounds which is the lightest he’s been throughout six years of action. The Liberian has faced Minnesota’s best along with prospects from around the nation and says tonight is about getting back on track and working towards big fights down the road.
“I just came from training camp in Washington, DC and I feel super right now” Zarzar said when asked how preparation for tonight’s fight went. “I never talked about this fight and I never posted about it. But it was a fantastic training camp.”
Zarzar continued, “My goal is to get five wins in a row and get back to all the guys I so called lost to. One of them is the guy I fought when we last spoke (Deon Nicholson) when I went to Alabama. He’s number one now in the country. My goal is to see him again and beat him. His manager says they will give me that fight if I get three wins in a row. That is my plan.”
“I don’t know the guys name I am fighting and I don’t know his record. All I know is that he’s going down.”
The action from Kentucky begins at 6pm Central time.
