MMA: BILDER MOVES TO 2-0 WITH WIN

Blake Bilder improved to 2-0 last Saturday night (July 7) in California against tough hometown opponent Julian Baez. Fight of the night honors were awarded to the two men after 3 exciting rounds. Bilder was victorious by way of majority decision.

Bilder’s takedowns were key in the first round and throughout. He scored big from mount with ground and pound as round one ended. A head kick in round two buzzed Baez as the action kicked off again. Bilder scored a single leg takedown moments later that got the crowd cheering and he went on to dominate the rest of the round. Baez showed grit as he stormed out for the third and final round. Behind his home crowd, Baez threw hard punches and kicks that hit their mark. Bilder neutralized the rally by once again taking Baez to the canvas where he landed elbows from side control. Baez got back to his feet with seconds remaining and backed Bilder up with more heavy punches as the fight came to a close.
