MMA: CES 48 RESULTS FROM R.I.

Linsey “Wonder Woman” Williams (2-2) scored an impressive stoppage victory over Hilarie Rose (0-1) in a preliminary bout last Friday night in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Rose was game but Williams turned heads with a 3rd round TKO (strikes) victory in her CES debut. After a close opening round, Williams had a solid round two. The Minnesotan then took mount in round three and dropped blows upon Rose until the referee stopped the fight at 4:01 of round three.

Things didn’t go as well for Minnesota’s Travis Wiuff and former Minnesota fighter Kevin Barberena. Wiuff was clipped with a short hook to the head by Greg Rebello early after a take down attempt. Right uppercuts by Rebello while Wiuff was on all fours forced the referee to stop the fight at :23 into the first round. The vacant CES MMA World Heavyweight Title was on the line.
Kevin Barberena lost a unanimous decision to Dinis Paiva Jr. in an earlier televised bout. The show was promoted by CES MMA and televised live on AXS TV.
