MMA: CHASE WALDON MAKES UFC DEBUT TONIGHT

UPDATE: Waldon was stopped in the opening round by Geoff Neal earlier tonight. Waldon went for an early takedown but Neal was able to bring the fight back up to their feet and land a hard left to the head followed by a flurry of punches to Waldon who was now on the ground and the referee stopped the action.
River Falls, Wisconsin’s Chase Waldon (11-2) and fighting out of Spartan Martial Arts in Oakdale, MN will compete tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada in a featured bout on UFC’s Tuesday night contender series. Waldon spent training camp preparing to face 31 year old RFA veteran Gabriel Checco (8-2) before Checco pulled out a few days ago. Waldon will now battle Geoff “Handz of Steel” Neal (7-2) of Austin, Texas. Neal will be moving up in weight to take the short notice fight against Waldon.
