MMA: HERNANDEZ BROTHERS SHINE AT A-TOWN THROWDOWN XIV

The fighting Hernandez brothers were victorious on December 15, 2018, at A-Town Throwdown XIV in front of another packed show in Austin, Minnesota. The Fight Squad members Sam and Juan competed in the two professional bouts of the night and brought fireworks to the cage as usual. Sam Hernandez defeated Robert Andrews by KO in round one and Juan Hernandez stopped Marc Hummel by TKO in the opening round. The two men began their fight careers six years ago, training in garages and backyards. They have become hits in the eyes of Minnesota fight fans as they’ve grown in each fight along the way. The pro-debut victories successfully kicked off the next chapter of both men’s fight careers.
Undefeated Coty Milhausen (5-0) won the Driller Promotions 155 pound amateur title with an entertaining unanimous decision win over Dustin Klapperick in other action.
Robert Andrews (0-1) vs. Sam Hernandez (1-0) 145-pound main event

Round 1: Robert Andrews landed a nice right hand to the head of Hernandez to get things rolling. However, it’s pretty normal for Hernandez to take a few to land his own and his answer came moments later. Hernandez caught Andrews with a hard kick to the head followed by a right hand that put Andrews out on the canvas.
Marc Hummel (3-5) vs. Juan Hernandez (debut) 160-pound co-main event

Round 1: A right uppercut drops Hummel to his back and Herandez attacks with elbows to the head on the ground. Humel locks in an armbar but Hernandez fights out of it scrambles to side control. unanswered punches to the head and ref stops the fight with Hummel bleeding on the canvas. 2:40 TKO
A short right uppercut caught Hummel on the chin causing him to fall forward, Hernandez sprawled and landed shots until the ref stopped it.

155-pound amateur driller promotions title fight Coty Milhausen vs. Dustin Klapperick
RESULT: Coty Milhausen def. Dustin Klapperick by unanimous decision (49-45, 49-45, 49-44).
Round 1. A nice head kick lands for Klapperick but Milhousen swarms and lands a hard right to the head. Fast-paced start to the fight. Milhausen takes Klapperick to the ground and ends up in Klapperick’s guard where the action remains for the round.
Round 2. Milhausen comes out stalking again while Klapperick looks to counter punch. One point is taken from Milhausen for holding the cage. Milhausen scores another takedown moments later but ends up in Klapperick’s guard again. The fight stayss there with Milhausen landing head punches.
Round 3. Milhausen goes on the attack straight out of the gate with punches and brings the fight back to the ground. Klapperick defends from his back well but is unable to score many points from the position.
Round 4. More ground and pound with Milhausen in Klappericks guard.
Round 5. The action mirrors the prior rounds with the fight going to the ground. Milhausen works to mount late and rains down punches. Klapperick defends well again but still having trouble scoring from his back.
