MMA: JENKINS AND PETERSON PROMISE VICTORY AT LFA

Lightweight’s Brandon Jenkins (10-4) of Savage, MN and Jeff Peterson (7-4) of Ashland, WI (fighting out of San Diego, California) are set to clash this Friday night at the Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake, MN as Legacy Fighting Alliance brings another stellar show to the Twin Cities. All of the action can also be seen live on AXS TV. The Peterson-Jenkins bout will be one of the main televised bouts of the night.
This will be Jeff Peterson’s fourth fight in a row, having gone undefeated in that span. Jenkins will be looking to make it three win in a row if things go as planned for him. Both fighters picked up big wins in there last fights which LFA promoted earlier this year. Peterson defeated Bobby Lee last May and Jenkins stopped Billy Christianson this past January.

“My last fight went exactly as planned” said Peterson.  “Bobby was undefeated so it was hard to find a clear path to victory. I saw he was a one round fighter; comes out aggressive and gets the finish early on. He fades as the fight goes on, whereas I get better as the fight goes on. The plan was to survive the first round, take him to deep waters, and drown him. I did exactly that. I visualized the victory for months and when my hand was raised, I knew I just crossed into a new portion of my career. I now have the momentum I need to keep winning fights on the big stage and get to the UFC. One fight at a time I’m going to get to the LFA lightweight belt, then get to the UFC. That all started with beating Bobby Lee. These guys aren’t on my level, Alliance MMA is a power house gym and has helped mold me into the fighter I am today. Alliance is producing some of the best fighters in the world, I am becoming one of them.”

“Billy Christianson and I met at LFA 2″ said Jenkins. He said some things, I said some things. We handled our business but I’m sure we will lock horns again in the future!”

This fight has everything in the makings to earn fight of the night honors, which would be enormous considering the other match ups on the show. Both Jenkins and Peterson like to strike, show a ton of heart, and can finish a fight on there feet or on the ground. Respect for one another was shown by both fighters when asked to reveal what fans can expect. And both promised victory as well.

“My opponent Brandon Jenkins is a seasoned vet with a lot of experience. He’s a smooth striker that fights out of both stances, like me. He’s aggressive, likes to lead, and seems to be a risk taker and a finisher. I expect him to take the fight to me and to try and make it a stand up war. I intend on putting a pace on him he can’t keep up with. I’m better than him in all areas and I’m going to expose his weaknesses. Whether I get an early finish or a three round bloody war, I’m the better fighter and I’m going to prove it.

training sessions to deal with Jeff strength. I’ve never felt this athletic and strong heading into a match up before. I’ve done a lot of wresting for this camp so don’t be surprised if you see me shoot a couple take downs (laughing)! But as always, I’m going out there to get the finish via KO so fans are in for a treat. This could very well be the fight of the year! I don’t think there’s anyway this fight could be boring. “Training camp has gone great for this fight” Peterson stated. “It’s been repeated over and over again, but I’m in the best shape of my life. I never take time off from learning and training.
