MMA: MORET, KHAN PICK UP WINS AT VFC 59

Lightweight  Dan “The Hitman” Moret (13-3) of Brooklyn Park, MN traveled to Alonzo Martinez’s (43-22-1) hometown of Omaha, Nebraska and finished the veteran in round one. Moret took Martinez to the canvas, worked his way to mount and landed strikes. Martinez turned his back for a split second which presented the Minnesotan the opportunity to wrap up a rear naked choke. Martinez tapped out at 1:39 of the first round.
Also on the card, Moret’s Academy teammate Kazim Kahn (7-2 amateur) defeated Nebraska’s Jesse Rutherford (5-4) by unanimous decision. The fights were part of Victory Fighting Championsips 59.
