MMA: STEBBINS ADVANCES IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
UPDATE #2: Team USA’s Sean Stebbins of Minnesota lost a split decision to Mussabek Kazakhstan of Astana, Kazakhstan in his semifinals match this morning (Thursday, November 16, 2017) in Manama, Bahrain.
UPDATE #1: Team USA’s Sean Stebbins defeated Italy’s Giacomo Santoro today (Wednesday, November 15, 2017) by three round unanimous decision in Manama, Bahrain. The Quarterfinal win propelled Stebbins’ amateur record to 10-0 and moves him into the semifinals of the IMMAF World Amateur Championships bantamweight division.
Driller Promotions flyweight amateur champion Sean Stebbins of Minneapolis, MN has had a great run so far at the 2017 IMMAF World Amateur Championships in Manama, Bahrain. The mixed martial arts tournament began on November 12 and goes through November 19th. Stebbins is competing in the 125 pound flyweight division and has won his first two matches as he represents team USA.
The Minnesotan defeated Sanan Safarli of Azerbaijan moments ago in his second round match by split decision. Stebbins outworked his game opponent as the announcers repeatedly used the word “persistent” when describing his excellent work.
In his first match of the tournament, Stebbins defeated Bahrain’s Ali Yaqoob by unanimous decision.
