MMA: WEEKEND MINNESOTA FIGHT RESULTS
Minnesota Muay Thai results: Thomas Jenkins (3-1) of Bloomington, MN defeated Petchdam Tor.Pran by third round TKO in Pattaya, Thailand last Saturday. Jenkins dominated most of the fight in the clinch and battered Tor.Pran with elbows. The end came when Jenkins put Tor.Pran off balance with an elbow and landed a vicious knee to the swollen head of his falling opponent late in round three. The full fight video can be watched below.
Minnesota MMA results: Bryan Mortensen (2-0) of Mankato, MN defeated Hawaii’s Ben Santiago (1-6) by guillotine choke at 3:05 into the first round. The fight took place at the at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii. Mortensen stunned Santiago midway through the opening round with a quick right hand to the head. Mortensen then took Santiago to the mat where he landed a few punches. Mortensen locked in a standing quilletion as Santiago attempted to get to his feet. Santiago eventually tapped because of the choke and the fight was stopped.
Anthony Yost (1-3) of Albert Lea, MN was stopped in the opening round by Ian Dela Cuesta (12-9) of Waipahu, Hawaii. The fighters mixed it up before Yost was caught by a hard head punch from Dela Cuesta. The punch put Yost out for several minutes afterwards. The Minnesotan said on social media afterwards that he is doing well and recovered.
