MUAY THAI: GLORY 58 WEIGHTS FROM CHICAGO
Minnesotan’s Troy Jones Jr., Thomas Jenkins, and Kou Lee successfully made weight last night for Glory 58 which takes place tonight in Chicago, Illinois. The level of kickboxing doesn’t get any higher than that of Glory and all three fighters are confident that they will bring home victories. Powerhouse Kuchlong Kuchlong of The Academy was close to being the fourth Minnesota kickboxer to see action on short notice. Despite his teams best efforts, a fight could not be made. Look for Kuchlong to get a Glory fight in the near future.
Troy “Trouble” Jones (9-1, 8 KO’s) of Brooklyn Park, MN stepped on the scales for his welterweight bout at 170 pounds. The 12 times US National and North American amateur champion Jones is competing in a one night, four man tournament. His first round match is against Casey Greene (5-9, 2 KO’s) of Los Angeles, California.
Three-time North American Thai Boxing Champion Thomas Jenkins (3-1, 3 KO’s) of Hopkins, MN is set to make his Glory debut. Jenkins weighed in at 184.5 for his middleweight match against Matt Baker. Baker was two pounds heavier at 186.5
Jones Jr. and Jenkins can be seen live on UFC FIGHT PASS. That portion of the show begins at 7:30 PM Central Time.
Minnesota’s Kou “The Sexy Asian Invasion” Lee (2-0, 2 KO’s) weighed in for his featherweight match at 141.5. His opponent, Houssam El Kasri (1-1, 1 KO) of Morocco weighed-in t 142 pounds. Lee versus Kasri can be seen live on Glory’s Youtube page here along with the rest of the preliminary bouts. The prelims begin at 5 PM Central Time.
