MUAY THAI: TROY JONES JR. CRUSHES ABREU IN NEW YORK
Troy “Trouble’ Jones Jr. of Brooklyn Park, MN turned in another stellar performance last night after flattening his opponent in the opening round of a co-featured Muay Thai bout. Jones landed a left knee to the body of Abreu followed by a crushing right elbow to the jaw at 1:20 into round one that put an end to the one-sided contest.
Jones (now 9-1, 8 KO’s) wasted no time before going on the attack against the shorter Abreu. Using his reach, specifically behind a hard jab, Jones overwhelmed Abreu from the start. After disorienting Abreu with combinations, Jones pinned his opponent on the ropes where he unleashed the fight-ending elbow that’s being dubbed on social media as his latest fight ending “Hellbow”.
The fight was the co-main event to Friday Night Fights broadcast from New York on UFC Fight Pass.
