NORTHSIDE FIGHT NIGHT RESULTS!

The Northside Boxing Club hosted a night of amateur boxing last Friday, November 19, 2021 which featured big time match-ups between skilled Minnesotans. The action took place at Aria in Minneapolis.

Marchello Roland, Northside Boxing split decision win over Zaro Snyder, Minneapolis Boxing Club in a 132 pound bout

“It was a good fight, we both came to win obviously if you watched it” said Roland afterward. “I felt like I wanted the win more. He was dropping his head kind of throwing off my punches but I found his timing and started turning up the power on him! But he’s a good fighter, I used my jab and took my time and won the fight.”

Garrett Neal, Northside Boxing split decision win over Daveone Olive, Saint Cloud Golden Gloves Boxing in a 165 pound bout.

“I watched him fight a couple times and knew what type of skills he had and that I had to be on point no matter what” said Neal. “Me being 5’8 and him being about 6’2, 6’3, I knew I had to keep the fight inside and break him down by counter-punching and more importantly, working his body. I personally think I won all 3 rounds but I should have closed the last round out more or maybe even stopped him. I guess I took my foot off the gas a little bit. Also, he caught me with a huge overhand right on the rope, and I even told him in the back after the fight that that was the hardest I’ve ever been hit in a fight. It felt very good to showcase my skill in my city and also against a tough/big and strong fighter like him. I thank God that we both came into the fight healthy and left healthy.”

” It was a great fight, Neal did very well countering and slipping my jab in the first round so it took a second for me to adjust” said Olive. “The 2nd round I think I adjusted well, threw more jabs to keep his mind busy on my next move vs his counter punch. 3rd round I figured out the adjustment completely! I came out with more pressure and forced him to fight instead of box. Neal was a great opponent and I was honored to share the ring with him on such a short notice for a very important show”.
