PRO BOXING’S RETURN TO CANTERBURY PARK FAST APPROACHING!

Professional boxing’s return to Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN is fast approaching as IGNITE presents the action on December 4th, 2021. The boxing action begins at 6 PM with Muay Thai bouts set to kick-off at 1 PM. Tickets for “MECCA XVII” can be purchased HERE.

December 4th’s main event features undefeated “Super Bad” Tony Woods (8-0, 7 KOs) taking on “The Jackal” Jarvis-the Jackal Williams Sr (8-5-1, 5 KOs) in a middleweight showdown.

Woods, originally from Cedar Rapids, IA, now lives in Shoreview, MN and trains with former Minnesota State Champion Coach “Collateral Damage” Corey Rodriguez. “Super Bad” returns off of a 2nd round KO victory over Brandon Baue at Grand Casino Hinckley last month, a fight in which Baue’s jaw was broken. Woods hopes to look impressive and continue building his Minnesota fan base with a spectacular performance. Williams hails from St. Louis, MO and brings slick boxing skills and a wealth of experience to the bout. He has been in the ring with elite level competition and his last 6 opponents sport a combined record of 42-2-1 including notable prospects Nikita Ababiy, Cruse Stewart and Pachino Hill. Williams swears he will not lose this fight, and has been training to come into hostile territory and take the win.

The co-main event features Marlin “So-Icey Sims taking on Shauncy Perry of Jonesboro, Arkansas in a 6 round battle at 132 pounds.

Sims has been a staple of the Minnesota pro boxing scene for the past 3 years and is making his 10th professional appearance. He has amassed a record of (8-1, 4 KO’s) and is always ready to take on any challenge. He is making the move up from 126 to 132 pounds for this bout and will bring his patented southpaw style to the ring.Perry is a game fighter from Arkansas who has faced excellent competition in his pro career with combined opponent’s record of 14-5-3. He is coming off a TKO win over Rocky Hughes and thinks his slick style will give Sims problems. 

Amy “Hard Hands” Lemenager, Minnesota’s only professional female boxer is set to return in a featured bout against “Kaptain” Kate Lavigne!

The 23 year-old Lemenager boxes out of Duluth and has a (2-0) record as a professional including a big win over 4-0 Leslie Pope in her last fight. Amy brings passion and an exciting style to her fights and this one is guaranteed to be a banger.

Lavigne is coming from Overland Park, KS and sports a (1-1) record. She turned pro in 2021 after a successful national-level amateur career. Lavigne is training hard and plans to come away with the win when the two ladies meet.

Cayman Audie (1-0) will take on Dennys Reyes (1-1) in a 4 round battle. Both men are coming off knockout wins in October and are in shape and ready to go. Audie trains in Hinckley, MN with Tim Owen Taggart and the MLBO Boxing Club. Reyes trains with Valhalla Combat in the Twin Cities but originally boxed in Cuba.

Exciting local fighters will make their professional debuts to kick-off the show.

Darry Jones Jr. will make his debut against tough mixed martial artist Derek Gottlieb (0-1) in a light heavyweight battle between Minnesota fighters.

Minneapolis’ Robbie Loyde will take on Manakato fighting veteran Sam Hernandez in a 4 round light middleweight clash. Apple Valley’s Gavin Hendrickson will step in the ring with the crafty Dustin Heisse as he looks to get his professional career started on the right foot.

Muay Thai/Kickboxer Tommy Matlon (0-1) of Minneapolis will Riverside, Illinois’ Dominicc Hardy (debut) in four round heavyweight bout. Valhalla Combat’s Josh Clark (2-0) is still seeking an opponent.
