“Bad” Brad Patraw (11-8, 5 KO’s) of Saint Paul, MN won the vacant Minnesota state featherweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Philip Adyaka (5-8, 3 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN on Friday night at the Cabooze in Minneapolis.

The two fighters battled at a furious pace for eight rounds  with the Minneapolis skyline glowing in the background of the outdoor music venue.

Adyaka was deducted a point on two separate occasions late in the fight by referee Mark Nelson for continuously losing his mouth piece. No knockdowns were scored in the bout but Patraw and Adyaka gave the full house plenty to cheer about with there effort. Scores read 79-71, 77-73, 77-73 for Patraw.

Former NFL football player Ray Edwards (11-0-1, 7 KO’s) of Cincinnati, Ohio knocked out Steven Tyner (3-15-3, 2 KO’s) of Akron, Ohio in round two of the co-featured fight of the night.
Edwards knocked Tyner down three times in the second round with head punches before Tyner’s corner threw in the towel near the end of the round.

Danyelle Williams (1-0) of Owatonna, MN upset local heavyweight favorite Van Goodman (4-7-2, 4 KO’s) of Minneapolis, MN by winning a four round majority decision. Scores read 38-38, 39-37, 39-37.

Cleveland, Ohio’s Ramiro Hernandez (7-0, 7 KO’s) stopped Jose Homar Rios (1-3, 1 KO’s) of Moorhead by TKO victory following the conclusion of round number three in super featherweight bout.

In what was supposed to be the opening bout, Vince Downwind (0-1) of Rice Lake, Wisconsin was left without an opponent after James Roe (1-6, 1 KO) of Elk River, Minnesota did not show up.  MORE TO COME.
