LUCY LANEY BOXING BOXERS COMPETE AT 2023 USA BOXING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Lucey Laney Boxing Academy out of Minneapolis, MN has boxers competing at the 2023 USA Boxing National Championships in Lafayette, Louisiana. Madison McDonald and Timothy Greer begin competition on Monday, December 4, 2023. Also competing throughout the week are Jeroson Garduward in the 132 pound elite male division and Z’karion Walker in the 110 pound intermediate male division.

Morgan McDonald Jr. of MN defeated Marcel Vaughn of St. Peters, MO by decision in a 132 pound junior male bout. Scores read 30-27 x4 for Mcdonald and 30-27 once for Vaughn.

Madison McDonald of Minneapolis, MN lost a close 3-2 decision to Jocelyn Zempoaltecatl Fallsburg, NY in a 80 pound bantamweight female bout. Judge 1 saw the bout 30-27 for NY. Judge 2 scored the action 29-28 for MN. Judge 3 saw the bout 30-27 for NY. Judge 4 scored the bout 30-27 for NY. Judge 5 scored the bout 29-28 for MN

MONDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2023, 6 PM SESSION IN RING #4, BOUT #10

Timothy Greer of Minneapolis, MN lost by DQ to Ryan Jones Hawthorne, CA in a 139 pound youth male bout. Coach Morgan McDonald says that there was a discrepancy with weights. Greer was slightly over weight and able to make it minutes after being told he was not going to be able to attempt again moments after hitting the scales.
