RONDALE HUBBERT SEEKING KO THIS FRIDAY IN NORTH CAROLINA
Rondale Hubbert (15-27-3, 9 KO’s) of Duluth, MN will face Marklin Bailey (9-13, 5 KO’s) of Durham, North Carolina in an 8 round bout on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the John T Rhodes Sports Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Aaron Freeman of Biggtime Boxing Promotions and Christy Martin Promotions will present the action. Hubbert has been preparing for the fight since late 2023 because the card was originally set to take place on January 12 in Biloxi, Mississippi. The 135 pound lightweight bout can be watched live on TRILLER TV HERE.
Hubbert has faced nothing but prospects in recent years and the same can be said for most of his career. He realizes the great opportunity in front of him against Bailey who is a journeyman and gatekeeper with a similar record because of it. Hubbert says that he plans to make the most of the opportunity.
“It’s only been a couple times in my career that I said the fight would not go the distance and I’m telling you now, somebody is getting knocked out. I’m tired of being F’d over. I am an experienced and seasoned vet. I stopped looking for the finish and tried to just let it come but that’s not happening. I’m chasing this one.”
“I have a pretty good chance in this one” said Hubbert. “He is 9-13 but tough like me. I was training and sparring before they rescheduled so I will be ready for whatever.”
Hubbert is coming off of an 8 round decision loss to undefeated Devon Lee in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 27th, 2024. It was another fight in which Hubbert appeared to do enough to win but come up short on the judges cards.
