ELITE MINNESOTA AMATEUR BOXERS SET TO COMPETE AT “EYE OF THE TIGER” THIS FRIDAY AT LYKE’S GYM
Lyke’s Boxing presents it’s second amateur show in as many months this Friday night. “Eye of the Tiger” has eleven bouts scheduled with fun match-ups throughout and two featured bouts which could rival many pro shows talent wise.
Meeting in the main event of the night will be Jerred Bradford, 23, (11 wins, 2 losses) of Lyke’s Boxing and Arath Bautista, 23, (10 wins, 5 losses) of the CMB Gym in a 175 pound bout. Bradford placed third at the 2022 National Golden Gloves tournament. Bautista trains and spars with one of Minnesota’s top professional prospects, Leo Medel, both at CMB in Apple Valley.
“I’m excited to get back into the ring” Bradford told MinnesotaBoxing.com. “I left boxing on such a high note and I’m ready to get back where I was. I don’t know too much about my opponent but from my style alone I know that this fight will be filled with action. I’m an aggressive puncher and I want to take someone’s head off.”
Jerred Bradford
“My training has been very good.” said Bautista. “I feel strong and am sure I can win. I know that he’s a strong opponent and he has the experience on his side. That being said, I believe I can win and give the fans a great fight.”

The co-main event features Eduardo Valenzuela of Top Team boxing Isaiah Abalan of the Circle of Discipline, both with over 30 bouts apiece in a 156 pound bout. Valenzuela and Abalan each have top notch boxing experience on the National stage which adds to the promise that fans will witness high level action.
I’m feeling good. This will be my first fight back since having shoulder surgery so I’m real excited about that. My shoulder is feeling a lot better and a lot stronger, all praise to God. I’m real confident in my preparation and training. I hope my opponent and everybody else on the show is as well. I never leave any stone un-turned in training and give it my all every single day even when I feel like I don’t have anything. I’m fully confident and excited.
What I expect is just to get back into the mix of things. I’ve sparred a lot in training but obviously it’s different getting in the ring. When you get back in that ring, it’s an exciting feeling. It’s a different environment because you are used to being in the gym. I look forward to showcasing my skills to everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve fought so I’m ready to remind people who might have forgot how I get down (laughing). The fans can expect a high level of boxing from me and an exciting fight, with great talent.

“I’ve only shared the ring once with him for a brief sparring practice when I was much younger.” said Valenzuela. “I’m expecting a lot of punching power and tactical punches from him so I see this being both a technical boxing match with the occasional action packed brawl when it comes down to it. It will definitely be a watch worthy bout!”
