STRONG SHOWING FOR HUBBERT IN VEGAS
Rondale Hubbert (10-3-1, 6 KO’s) of Minneapolis lost a hard fought decision to Las Vegas super lightweight Ladarius Miller (9-0, 1 KO) of Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 29th in Las Vegas. Despite taking the fight on short notice, Minnesotaboxing.com was told by numerous ringside observers that Hubbert showed very well against the Mayweather Promotions signed Miller. Official scores read 60-54, 59-55, 59-55.
“He was nothing special and I’ve said before that I can compete with and beat the best in the world” said Hubbert. It was a great learning experience and I was making Mayweather jump up and yell at Miller during the fight which let me know that I was doing good. I left without a mark and landed the harder punches. But hey, it’s the boxing business and I was in his backyard so I know I needed a knockout to win. All in all, I am happy with my performance. I just should’ve put more pressure on him. I waited a little bit too much. I am going right back to the gym to continue doing what I love to do. My time will come and I think I am going to stay in my own backyard for a couple fights where I have more of a fair chance.”
