TONY WOODS SCORES 5TH RD TKO OVER WILLIAMS IN IOWA
Middleweight Tony Woods improved to (12-0, 10 KO’s) last Saturday night with a fifth round stoppage victory over Jarvis Williams (now 9-8-1, 5 KO’s) of Saint Louis, Missouri at the River Center in Davenport, Iowa. The co-featured Alien Boy Promotions showdown was a rematch bout. Woods won the first meeting in 2021 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN with Woods earning the unanimous decision win.
It was a wild fight with Woods dropping Williams in round two hard. Looking for the finish, Woods was put down himself shortly after by a left hook. Woods would go on to drop Williams a few more times and dominate the rest of the bout. The corner of Williams threw in the towel at :43 of round five. Head coach Corey Rodriguez and second Daleco James cornered Woods in the bout.
In other action, Gilbert Venegas Sr. lost a UD to Travis Thomas in the nights main event.
