VE SHAWN OWENS PICKS UP WIN IN INDIANA

24 year old Ve Shawn Owens (3-0, KO’s) traveled to The Egyptian Center in Indianapolis, Indiana to take a short notice fight last Saturday, May 27th. Owens, of Minneapolis  matched up against Reymundo Hernandez (6-21, 6 KO’s) of Atchison, Kansas. Owens made quick work of Hernandez, stopping him in the opening round.

“The fight was short notice, but I was already in shape when I got the call”  said Owens. “He’s a very quick and short compacted fighter. I started off with the jab to catch his timing and then started applying power with the jab as he rushed in with wild hooks and right hands. As I caught him with straight right hands, his guard continued to stay high. I timed him with a perfect feint and he did not see me sneak in a short left uppercut, right to the liver that dropped him in the first minute of the fight. Hernandez beat the count at the count of eight but I dropped him two more times with the same body shot and he could not beat the count on the third knock down. The fight ended at 2:21 of the first round.
