WALTERS IMPROVES TO 4-0 WITH WIN OVER CHACON
Jesse “Primo” Walters of Duluth, MN moved his record to (4-0, 2 KO’s) on Saturday night against road warrior Ray Chacon (7-42-1) of Los Angeles, California in Gadsden, Alabama. Walters at 5’8″ towered over the shorter Chacon yet the California native was much stockier and had the weight advantage going in. Still, Walters used good combinations and his reach to outwork Chacon over four rounds of action to pick up the unanimous decision win.
Former Minnesota light heavyweight champion “Jungle Boy” Zach Walters who coaches his nephew Jesse told Minnesotaboxing.com that Chacon was over weight two weeks out but that it was too late to make adjustments with a new match so they accepted the risk and moved forward.
“Great crowd, fun show with lots of fights!” said Walters, owner of the Jungle Boy Gym in Duluth. “Jesse boxed heavy to balance things out with his opponent. His opponent was super heavy and Jesse stayed disciplined, kept his range, and used his fast handed combinations to take care of business. He won a unanimous decision and also won over the crowd. He made a lot of fans last night!”
