WIN RIPPED FROM HUBBERTS HANDS IN IOWA
Rondale Hubbert (13-18-2 ) was burglarized of a victory moments ago at the at the Mississippi Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa. Despite outworking hometown favorite Shawn West (7-2-1) over six rounds, the judges seemed to have been watching the merry-go-round outside rather than the action in the ring and somehow scored the fight a majority draw.
The first half of the six rounder was more about what West wasn’t doing and Hubbert doing the only real scoring. The Minnesotan Hubbert had a huge fifth round, battering West with head shots from all angles throughout. The sixth round was tight with West scoring to the body. Hubbert was not only scoring but using head movement and slick defense fans came to applaud during his 140 MN state title reign in 2014.
The first score was announced in favor of Hubbert 58-56 followed by the jaw dropping scores of 57-57 twice which left the 140 pound USA Mid American title vacant.
Afterward, play by play announcer and legend Michael Nunn was left speechless declaring these types of decisions need to end. More to come.
